Interesting and honest answer to the daily question Michael. I guess it’s like that for most of us, eventhough we might be either unaware of it or not wanting to admit it.
But then if …..
“Isn’t everything else just an expression of our lack of acceptance of self”
Thanks alluvja, samme, leigh and nicole
Are y’all trying to tell me something here? If i have a blog of less then two syllables you will comment?
I was thinking about this earlier today.
everyone seems real eager to accept and support the person that gets hit by the drunk driver. But are they the ones that need the greatest attention? I thik not, i think those who commit the crimes and abuse others are the most need of attention and support. The ones who are on the receiveing end will always get it but that will not facilitate change. It is those that have fallen and hurt our society the most that need to be accepted: the prostitutes, addict, drunks, sex offenders, wife beaters, ruanways, thieves, those who cheat on their partner/spouses. We tend to take the easy way out and accpet those they harm.
Folks liek to talk a good game about acceptance na inclusion but it is conditional to acting the way we think we shoudl be acting. How many folks accepot and invite child molesters into their home? How often do you here of families taking in rapists and murderers? rarely. It is the ones in most need for acceptance that receive the least. Would you invite George W bush to your house for dinner? The guy who rapes the chearleader of the high school footbal team? The woman who cheated on her husband the Pastor at the Church with a boy from the youth group?
if we are going to talk about aceptance, we have to get real and include those who we think are the problem, not just those who fit into our frame of refeerence and ideal society.
It all comes back to acceptance of self. if i really accept who i am, which i do not, then how coudl we judge another? Is it possible to not aac[et evryone regardless of who and what they are if we genuinely accept who we are? How is it possible to hate others if we have no hate in ourselves? How can we treat others disrespectfully is how we have total respect for ourselves?
What is the hardest for me to accept? me.

yes, you have gone to the heart of the matter, michael. Sometimes, one word can say it all, but sometimes we need help unpacking what that one word really means in this context, and you’ve done a beautiful job. Thank you, brother.
yes samme, silence does cover a lot, if not all the territory. i was attending a retreat at The Abbey of Gethsemane and there were little signs all over and especially in the dining hall:
“silence i spoken here”
And amongst the monks and others, it was spoken loudly.
really, Michael? harder than anything else?
Isn’t everything else just an expression of our lack of acceptance of self?

what do we really have to lose ….one wonders.
I accept you. : )
darn it - you took my answer.
I never thought of it that way, Michael. Hmm! Very insightful.

Thanks Sister nicole. I seemed to need to say something i wasn’t willing to with the original question. But my answer is still:
me.
Peace,
michael
