What is your greatest distraction?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 26, 2008:
In a word: Lust
I could find more honorable and socially acceptable responses to answer this question but is clearly my continued attraction to women and their bodies, not just the women themselves. I have deep and forceful emotions relating with women and their courage, strength, creativity and sexuality, and bodies.
Somehow i had imagined after almost twenty years of meditation and being a middle aged man that this would change; i was mistaken. I could if given the chance and allowed myself, daydream about women significant chunks of the day. I reflected recently about this and wondered of now that i have developed in many areas of intimacy and connection that were still challenges to me, if i was in a satisfying romantic relationships with a woman if any if this would be still be an issue.
Until then, tis is my greatest distraction, and i a fun at that.
PS- My distraction costs nothing, has no calories nor hangovers and makes for fun, playful and flirtatious friendships. I certainly could have worse distractions.

Nicole i almost deleted this. I know this is not the kind of perspective that is popular nor respected these days but the truth for me at this time. As many really sensiitve things that i have posted, this one was the one i felt the most nervous about.
no, if you could have worse…that would be your demon…for now, lust should suffice.

Great and genuine answer! I was glimpsing through the responses to this question and thought to myself: ” Come on! Am I the only one who is highly distracted by sex?” Thanks for keeping it real! :D
i'm so glad you didn't delete it. There is nothing wrong with the fact that we are all, to one extent or another, distracted by lust. From what I understand, it's more of a typically male issue, but that doesn't mean that aren't many, many women who are highly sexed. After all, there are billions of humans in the worlld! so let's talk openly about these things instead of censoring ourselves
what I meant was ….maybe you could be a hitler…and you acted out your fantasies…to me lusting is pretty healthy becuase it helps perpetuate the species…not annihilate it. Of course there are extremes to everything.
